a retired bus operator for the MBTA, died Sunday July 5 in Mashpee. She was 79 years old.

Born and raised in Dorchester, she was a graduate of Hyde Park High School. Mrs. Kane retired from the MBTA in 1995. A longtime resident of Roslindale, she moved to Mashpee after retirement.

Beloved wife of the late John “Red” Kane. Loving mother of Susan Kane of Hyde Park, Donna Kane Foley of Westwood and Stephen Kane of Littleton, CO. Devoted memere of Jacqueline Kane, Nicole Kane and Meghan Kane. Sister of Joseph LaBier of RI, Louis LaBier of Manomet, Carol Fagan of Bridgewater, Lorraine F. Kane of NH and the late Helen Walter.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Gregory Church, 2215 Dorchester Avenue, Dorchester, Thursday July 9 at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, MILTON, Wednesday 4-8 PM. Interment Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
