Elizabeth “Betsy” Hickman
Elizabeth “Betsy” Hickman, 59, passed away peacefully at MGH on February 16, 2015 after a long illness, surrounded by her family. Elizabeth was the cherished youngest daughter of the late George and Rosalie (Boyd) Hickman. She was the beloved sister of Jeanne Hartley and her husband William of Sandwich and Rosemary Stevens and her husband George of Braintree. She is also survived by her aunt, Margaret Chartier, her niece, Shelia Hartley, her nephew Kevin Hartley and her grand nephew, Caiden Hartley along with many cousins and grand cousins. Elizabeth was a 1973 graduate of Cardinal Cushing High School in Boston. Elizabeth worked for many years in a wide variety of industries, among them were retail, insurance and manufacturing. Elizabeth loved to go camping, she travelled extensively and was an avid Boston sports fan. She also enjoyed listening to the Oldies and was always the “class clown”, bringing a laugh wherever she went. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, and will be missed. Elizabeth was a longtime resident of Stonehedge Rehab where she was the president of the Patient Council. She was loved and respected by staff and patients.
