Brian P. O’Neill
Brian P. O’Neill, a retired fire department dispatcher, died at Mount Auburn Hospital, Cambridge, after a long illness, Friday February 3, 2012. He was 57 years old. Born and raised in Quincy, he attended Mass. Hospital School in Canton. Brian was employed at Instron Instruments in Canton and later worked as a dispatcher for the Lexington Fire Dept for several years. An accomplished musician, Brian was self-taught on the guitar, keyboard and saxophone. He also wrote and performed his own songs. Father of Christal Snell of Woburn. Son of the late William T. “Brother” and Gertrude “Sis” (Kerrigan) O’Neill. Brother of Attorney Peter O’Neill of Quincy, Ellen M. Matranga of Weymouth, Patricia A. and her husband George Wirtz of Quincy, Michael A. O’Neill and his wife Deborah of Weymouth, Christina O’Neill of Quincy and the late Paul K. O’Neill, William “Bill” O’Neill, Nancy A. Duff and Evelyn Walsh. Brian is also survived by many nieces and nephews. At Brian’s request, funeral services are private.

I was so sad to hear of Brian’s passing. Although I hadn’t seen him for a few years he had a special place in my heart. I will always remeber him with a guitar in his hands and a smile on his face. My thoughts and prayers are with Christal and rest of his family.

sorry to hear about your dad christal. i grew up with your da, we hung together for years.. i remember when you were born…i remember brians brothers and sisters.. brian and i were at mass. hosp. school together…brian was a fun person, and very nice..i hope you are ok christal… take care..please tell the family i’m sorry, and i miss brian and them…
I am very sad to hear of Brian’s passing. We have great memories of Brian when he worked at the Fire Department. A good dispatcher, good musician, and a fine gentleman. He will always be one of the family. Our prayers are with you.
