To Vinnie’s Family,
I was sad to read about Vin’s death in the newspaper. I first met Vin at the Boston Army Base in 1967, and I served with Vin in the “Fighting 513th.” Despite an unpleasant year in Vietnam, we made it back safely. I always found Vin to be a gentleman, and kind to all. I was unable to attend the wake and funeral, however I have a brother who is a retired Navy Chaplain of Marines. He often officiates at veterans’ burials at the National Cemetary, and I have asked him to visit Vinnie’s grave and say a prayer now and again. My condolences to the whole family.
