John P. “Johnny” Morrissey
John P. “Johnny” Morrissey, 73, of Milton, died at Brigham and Women’s Hospital on April 20, 2010.
Born in Charlestown, Johnny graduated from Charlestown High School in 1956. He entered the US Army and worked with the Corps of Engineers building bridges in Germany. Upon his return from Germany, he worked at Schrafts in Charlestown. He then transferred to the Brockway-Smith Company in Andover where he worked for over 30 years until his retirement.
Johnny resided in Milton for over 31 years. He was an avid skier and member of the Makasue Ski Club in North Conway, NH. He was a late member of the Knights of Columbus Council #62 in Charlestown.
Beloved husband of Judy P. (Sherwin) Morrissey. Loving father of Jennifer E. and her husband Sean Hayes of Arlington and Jonathan P. Morrissey and his dear friend Karoline Grogan of Quincy. Loving grandfather of Caden P. Hayes of Arlington. Beloved brother of Rita Healey and Ruthann Humphrey both of Charlestown, and the late Doris Nigro, Joan and Thomas Morrissey, Joseph, John, James, Francis, Thomas, and Paul O’Neil, and Mary Dobie. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Agatha’s Church MILTON on Saturday, April 24, at 10:30AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours at the Dolan Funeral Home 460 Granite Ave MILTON on Friday 4-8PM. Interment Milton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Johnny’s name may be sent to The American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA, 01701.
