Maria Rosa
Maria Baptista Rosa passed away on June 26, 2015 surrounded by her loving family at her home in East Taunton, Massachusetts. Born on October 22, 1922 on the Cape Verde Island of Fogo, she was a devoted wife to her late husband, Tomé Santos Rosa. Together, they shared 12 children, 44 grandchildren, 82 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren. Her proudest accomplishment was her family, who loved her unconditionally. She was a true matriarch, a source of strength, a beaming ray of sunshine, filled with positivity and goodwill. Her surviving family will forever reminisce about her words of wisdom, the blessings she bestowed upon them daily, and her contagious laughter. She will most be remembered for her commitment to God, her generous spirit, her warmth and affection, and of course, her love for all things beauty and fashion.
Visitors will be received at Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, Dorchester Lower Mills on Tuesday, June 30 from 4:00-8:00 PM. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 1 at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick’s Church, 400 Dudley Street, Roxbury followed by the burial at her final resting place with her beloved husband at Mt. Calvary Cemetery on 366 Cummins Highway, Roslindale.
