Helen Kathleen (Keefe) Sim, 94, recently of East Wareham, formerly of Milton died peacefully surrounded by her loving family at home on May 5, 2015 after a long period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Thomas W. Sim who died in 1948. Born in Boston, Mrs. Sim was the daughter of the late Thomas and Alice (Appleton) Keefe and had lived in East Milton most of her life. Educated in the Milton school system, she attended Regis College for one year in 1938-1939. In the late fifties she graduated from the three year Cardinal Cushing sponsored Theology for the Laity program offered at Emmanuel College, Boston. Earlier, Mrs. Sim worked as an Assistant Buyer for Jordan Marsh. In 1948, she began working for New England Telephone and Telegraph Company later called Verizon as a telephone operator for over 30 years. She worked in the offices located in Milton, Quincy and Fields Corner. For many years Mrs. Sim was active in the Milton Women’s Club Formerly on Reedsdale Road she was also a volunteer bookkeeper for the Milton Public Library in the 80’s and early 90’s. Helen was a longtime faithful parishioner at Saint Agatha Church she also taught CCD in the 50’s. Helen is survived by her son Alexander T. Sim and his wife Gail (Pickering) of East Wareham and by her grandchildren: Adam Sim and his wife Jennifer of Groton, CT, Brian Sim and his wife Julie of Norwell and Ian Sim and his wife Claire of Weymouth. She is also survived by five great grandchildren: Timothey Sim, Marlo Sim, Evelyn Sim, William Sim and Thomas Sim. Mrs. Sim is also survived by one sister Alice Patricia Keeney of Framingham and three nephews Thomas Richard, Robert and Russell Keefe of Brunswick, GA and her niece Rachel Pickett of Pensacola, FL. She was the sister of the late Frances Appleton Keefe and Thomas Keefe, Jr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30 AM in Saint Agatha Church, 432 Adams Street, Milton. Relatives and friends kindly invited. The family invites you to meet them at Dolan-Chapman Funeral Home, 5 Canton Avenue, MILTON VILLAGE at 9:15 on Friday for the procession to church.
