Jane Geraldine (Johnston) Lochrie
Jane Geraldine (Johnston) Lochrie of Neponset (Dorchester) passed away peacefully at ninety-eight years of age at the Notre Dame Long Care and Rehabilitation Center, in Worcester, MA. Jane was the beloved wife of the late William Lochrie, Jr and the loving mother of William Lochrie III, Jane A. Lochrie, MD, the late Joan M. (Lochrie) Marshall and her daughter-in-law, Deborah J. Mendoza-Lochrie. She was the much-loved grandmother of Thomas J. Marshall who brought immeasurable joy into her life. Jane is also survived by her devoted sisters, Margaret (Johnston) Mucci and Joan (Johnston) Pasquinelli; she was also the sister of Thomas Johnston, Mary Johnston, Nora (Johnston) Hayes, Dorothy (Johnston) Connolly and John Johnston, all of whom predeceased her. Jane had thirty-nine nieces and nephews, as well as a large family of grandnieces and grandnephews. This extended family was generous in both their visits and letters when she was incapacitated by a fall. Jane was educated in Boston and managed the practice of her late brother-in-law, John Stephen Hayes, MD, with his wife, Nora (Johnston) Hayes, RN. Jane’s life was distinguished by her deep faith and compassion. The family thanks all who rearranged their schedules to stay in touch with her. They are also grateful for the care provided by Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, MA, as well as Notre Dame du Lac Assisted Living Residence and Notre Dame Long Care and Rehabilitation Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Vincent Hospital Education and Research Fund, 123 Summer Street, Worcester, MA, 01608. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Ann Church, 243 Neponset Ave., Dorchester, Tuesday, March 10th at 10 AM. Visiting hours are at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Ave., East Milton, MA, Monday 4-8 PM.
