I will miss Father Jim very much. He had a very rare reverence and awe for the real presence of Our Blessed Lord in the Blessed Sacrament, body, blood, soul and divinity. In this present day of casualness and disrespect in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament by laity and priest alike, there are many a priest in this Archdiocese and layperson who should learn a lesson from Father Jim’s silent but powerful devotion. May Father Jim, who so lovingly reverenced Our Blessed Lord in his life, now rejoice in Christ’s glorious presence in the Kingdom of Heaven and find rest and peace from his labours.
Father Czerwinski was a very kind, thoughtful man who always had time to speak with everyone in a caring manner.
He truly was a humble servant of the Lord.
My condolences to his family and brother friars.
May his soul, and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
My hubby and I met Fr Jim on a train travelling towards Buffalo. He gave me his business card and we were going to try to contact him and when I googled his name I’ve just found that he had passed. We were both very saddened to read this. He was such a kind man and we enjoyed his company very much. We were travelling from Australia and he let us know all the places to go in New York.
Rest in Peace Fr Jim
