Mary Katherine “Kay” Sullivan
Mary Katherine “Kay” Sullivan of Milton and Weymouth, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2014 at the age of 96. She was the devoted wife of the late Charles R. Sullivan and is survived by her children Kathy Nash and her husband Rick of Weymouth, Sally Carlson and her husband Larry of Milton and Chuck and Sharon Sullivan also of Milton. Kay is also survived by her sister Loretta Correale of Florida and was predeceased by her brother Thomas Buckley of Rhode Island. She was very dedicated to and proud to be a graduate and 1938 class president of Emmanuel College and later was a teacher for the Boston School System for more than 20 years. Every day was a wonderful day for Kay and those who were fortunate to spend time with her. Kay and Charlie had wonderful times enjoying their many friends, having dinner and bowling at the Neighborhood Club or spending time traveling to the New Hampshire White Mountains. Her real joy in her later years was being with her grandchildren, Kristen Hough and her husband Brian, Elizabeth Carlson, John Carlson and Gillian Sullivan and her four great grandchildren Tyler, Aidan, Collin, and Will Hough. On Monday, May 12th, A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Agatha Church, 432 Adams Street, Milton at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are invited. Interment will be at Milton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to a charity of your choice.

My name is Carlos Munoz and I am Kay Sullivan’s great nephew. I’m very saddened by Aunt Kay’s passing. I live in the Bay Area in California and was only able to see her every few years or so. Even though I didn’t see her often, Aunt Kay always welcomed me into her home with open arms when I came to visit. She was like a grandmother to me. She was a very warm and generous person.Even though this is a sad occasion, I take comfort in knowing she lived a long and fruitful life. She had a wonderful marriage with Uncle Charles and a great relationship with her three children. I know she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren too. I will always have warm thoughts of her and she will be sorely missed. My thoughts and condolences to everyone who was in her life. I know she loved you all very much.
Kay and my mother-in-law, Doris Lane, were cousins. Kay was a dear woman. Her name was always associated with a kind gesture or a good laugh …..and her brownies were legendary!! May she rest in peace.
My name is Marina and I am Aunt Kay’s great niece. I will always remember her as an easy going person who always welcomed me in her home with open arms. My thoughts and prayers go out to all her family and mine that she left behind. She lived a long and happy life but I guess God needed another angel.
My name is Espe and I had the privilege of having the pleasure to spend time with Kay a few times in my life. She was always very genuine and kind. She had a very strong hard and graceful spirit. I was so sad to hear about her passing, but I know she is in a better place. You know people always say that when loved ones die they are in a better place. I feel confident in saying this because she truly deserves it. Thank you Kay for your kindness and generosity. I am so grateful you got to see pictures of my son Aeden before gracing heaven with your beautiful soul. Rest in peace.
