Frances L. Johnson
Frances L. (Ballou) Johnson, 89, of Milton, MA and Tarpon Springs, FL, formerly of Hillsboro, NH and Lynn, MA passed away at Milton Hospital on Sunday, November 24th after a brief illness. Born Frances Lorine Kozak in Wagoner, OK on February 22, 1924 to the late Phillip and Anna (Jorski) Kozak. She is survived by her three children Harold Ballou and his wife Susan of Mount Joy, PA, Cheryl (Ballou) Corbett and her husband David of Hernando, FL and Anita Ballou and her spouse Pam Mortland of Milton. Frances is also survived by her sister Martha of Oklahoma and four grandchildren Joseph Ballou of Brimfield, Michael Ballou of Japan, Kevin Ballou of Japan and Rachel Dow of Lynn along with eleven great grandchildren. She also leaves nieces, nephews and many good friends. Frances was predeceased by her grandson, Ryan Dow, her siblings Theresa, Lucy, Frank, Clemons, Felix, Phillip Jr., and Helen. She was the wife of the late Orison F. Ballou and the late Ralph W. Johnson. Throughout her life Frances volunteered her spiritual gift of hospitality, openness, caring for others and good fellowship. Frances was a faithful Seventh Day Adventist and a member of the Palm Harbor Seventh Day Adventist church and the Braintree Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was passionate about the Sabbath Trail and the Washington New Hampshire Seventh Day Adventist Church and volunteered her time working on the trail and hosting other volunteers in her home in Hillsboro. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 30th at 2 P.M. in the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours will be held from 12-2 P.M. on Saturday prior to the service. If desired, donations in Frances’ name may be made to the Washington NH SDA Church c/o Northern New England Conference of Seventh Day Adventists, 91 Allen Avenue, Portland, ME 04103 or to the Friends of the Milton Council on Aging (COA), 10 Walnut Street, Milton, MA 02186.

Aunt Frances will be missed. She is the one aunt that kept in contact with me even after I moved away. I’m glad that I was able to spend some time with her last year when we were in Boston. – Sandee

Aunt Frances was one of those rare people that never meets a stranger, she loved her family and was always interested in everything that was going on in your life. She was sweet, kind and always willing to make you feel at home. We loved it when she came to Okloahoma to visit, she always wanted to see everyone. We loved her and will miss her very much.

We were so grateful to have had Aunt Frances in our journey of life. We loved it when she came to visit Martha Hofschulte. We always loved her love for life in all of her family members. She was an inspiration for us all! May God bless all her immediate family at this time. Our prayers will be with you!
We enjoyed talking with Aunt Frances so much, and we are going to miss her. She always remembered things we were doing & of course birthdays:) We loved hearing Frances talk about the old days with Clem (Dad), and ALL the family. We will always keep Aunt Frances in Our memories with Love.
