Virginia DePina

Virginia DePina, 102, of Boston formerly of Falmouth, passed away March 30, 2013.  Sister of the late John Monteiro of Falmouth.  She is survived by her siblings Clamintina DePina, Barbina Goncalves Lopes, Joao Goncalves, Idalina Goncalves and Teresa Goncalves De Oliveira.  As well as many nieces and nephews in the Greater Boston, Brockton, and Falmouth areas.  Virginia enjoyed cooking for family and friends and at one time was an active member of Saint Patrick’s Church in Falmouth.  She was born and raised in the Cape Verde Islands where she lived for much of her life before moving to Portugal, then finally settling in Falmouth in 1976.  Virginia has lived in Boston for the past 23 years.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Patrick’s Church, Roxbury, on Saturday, April 6th at 10:00 A.M. Relatives and friends invited.  Visiting hours will be held at the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, Dorchester, Lower Mills, on Friday from 5-9 P.M.  Interment at Saint Joseph Cemetery in Falmouth, MA.
