Lillian Patricia Quinn

Lillian Patricia  (Symmons) Quinn, died Dec. 24 at the Marina Bay Nursing Home, Quincy , She was 95. Born in Boston., An accomplished artist, she attended Boston Museum School, Vesper George Art School and studied with Alfred Spitall a famous Boston portrait artist. She also sang on the radio with her brother Thomas Symmons. After her husband  Joseph Quinn came home from the 2nd WW , they moved to Milton where Pat continued her art career. She then attended Fisher Secretarial School nights, then became a clinical secretary at the Carney Hospital. Shortly after she went to work for her inventor brother Paul Symmons who in 1938 invented and manufactured the first non scalding shower valve in the world. An accomplished pianist and organist she volunteered in various churches and became President of the Milton Women’s Club. and member of the Milton Art Association. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 66 years,  Joseph J. Quinn who died in 2007.  Devoted mother of Pamela E. Grady and her husband Thomas of Wolfeboro, NH. David J. Quinn of Canton.  Grandmother of Jennifer DeCarvalho and her husband Michael of Manchester by the Sea, Ma.  Gretchen Green and her husband Ted of Boynton Beach ,Fla. Zachary Grady and his wife Renee of Canton, Ma.  Great Grandmother of Katerina, Samantha, and Jacqueline Grady of Canton and Kaila and Mia DeCarvalho of Manchester by the Sea. Visiting Hours in the Dolan – Chapman Funeral Home, 5 Canton Ave., Milton Village, Friday 4-7 pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial  will be celebrated at StAgatha’s Church, Milton, Saturday Dec.29 at 10:30 am.   Interment Milton Cemetery.  If desired contributions in her memory may be sent to  the activity program she so enjoyed at the Marina Bay Nursing and Rehab Facility, Quincy Ma. 02169 or to St. Agatha’s Church, 432 Adams St., Milton, MA 02186.
