Barbara A. (Shea) Wharton, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, died at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital – Milton, Sunday September 16, 2012. Born in Boston and raised in Dorchester, she was a graduate of Cardinal Cushing High School. Mrs. Wharton retired from State Street Bank as a customer service representative. She was a longtime Milton resident. Wife of the late Edward R. Wharton. Loving mother of Thomas Whooley and his wife Theresa of Quincy, Susan Goldstein and her husband Mark of Lynnfield, Barbara McBee and her husband Don of Fairplay, CO and Robert Wharton and his wife Erika of Cumberland, ME. Cherished grandmother of Tara and Daniel Whooley, Jessica and Sarah Goldstein, Meaghan, Spencer and Matthew McBee and Ella and Alexander Wharton. Sister of Richard Shea and Patricia McKenna, both of Weymouth, William Shea of Canton, Nancy Ferrera of Plymouth, Donald Shea of Dorchester and the late Edward Shea. Barbara is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Agatha Church, Adams Street at Brook Road, Milton, Wednesday September 19 at 10:30 AM.
