Gertrude C. (Sullivan) Shields of Milton, Aug. 11, died in the Coyne Health Care Center  Nursing in Rockland. She was 86.  Gertrude was born in Boston and grew up in Mattapan and was active in St. Angela’s Parish.  She moved to Milton in1948.  She  was  a member of St. Mary of the Hills Parish and a member of the Women’s Club of the Church.  Gertrude worked in the medical records department of Carney Hospital for 30 years.  She was not also a long time volunteer at Milton Hospital.  She was the beloved wife of the late John S. Shields. Loving mother of John Michael Shields of Milton, Maryellen Morse of Norton, William F. Shields of Bradford, Elizabeth A. Harrington of E. Bridgewater, and the late Mark S. Shields and James M. Shields . Proud grandmother of 11 grandchildren. Sister of John Sullivan of Milton  Longtime employee of Carney Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated at Saint Mary of the Hills Church, Milton Tues. Aug 14, at 10 o’clock.  Visiting Hours in the Dolan & Chapman Funeral Home, 5 Canton Ave, MILTON, Monday 5 -8  pm. Interment Milton Cemetery.
