Peter J. DeRosa

Peter J. De Rosa died Friday January 20, 2012, after a short illness. He was 87 years old. Peter was born and raised in Roxbury. At 17 years of age, Peter enlisted in the US Army during WWII. Upon discharge from the Army, he worked in the insurance industry. After a few years Peter was employed with the City of Boston in the Boston Redevelopment Authority for 30 years. Peter also was also a member of the Board of Directors for the Boston Credit Union for 40 years. Beloved husband of Denise (Mondano) DeRosa. Loving father of Audrey Mackin of Quincy, Peter J. DeRosa  Jr. of  Dorchester and  Evangeline Saccoach of Quincy. Brother of the late Vincenzo DeRosa, Thomas DeRosa, Ralph DeRosa, Anthony DeRosa, Romo DeRosa, Joseph DeRosa, Paul DeRosa, Dom DeRosa and Frank DeRosa. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Holy Trinity Church, 227 Sea St., Quincy, Thursday January 26 at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours from the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, Milton, 4–8 PM. Interment Private.
