Agathe G. Cazeau

Cazeau – Agathe G., of Malden, formerly of Somerville and Dorchester, died peacefully, Thursday August, 4, 2011 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center after a brief illness.  She was fondly known as “Tata” to her family and friends.  She was 73. Tata was born in Petion-ville, Haiti.  She worked as an accomplished dressmaker until she was 30 when she immigrated to the United States.  She continued working as a seamstress when she arrived, and then started her 34-year-long career at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.  She finally retired from the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in 2007. Tata loved to travel and shop.  Her travels took her all over the world.  She was also an active member of the Catholic Church. She was the beloved sister of Albert Cazeau, and his late wife Jesula, and the late Casimi Cazeau, all of Dorchester.  She had two children, Pierre Lys, and his wife, Shirley, of Miami, and Lisbeth of Malden.  She was the proud grandmother of Gabriella, Sabreena, Mahalia, and Zion.  She is also survived by and will be forever missed by her many loving nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington St., DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS, Friday from 6-9 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Angela’s Church, Blue Hill Avenue, Mattapan Saturday August 13 at 12 Noon, with interment at Forest Hills Cemetery immediately following.
