Ann Charlotte Elizabeth Froston

Ann Charlotte Elizabeth Froston, a retired dietician, died at Brigham and Women’s Hospital Monday April 4, 2011. She was 79 years old. Fondly known as Mom, Brownie or Miss Brownie, she was born to Sarah Silcott on the Emerald Island of Montserrat. Brownie migrated to Curacao as a young adult where she met and married Etienne Froston. This union produced three children, Etlyn, Louis and Leonard. She migrated to the United States to live in Boston on November 5, 1967. Mrs. Froston was a retired dietician at Boston State Hospital. She was a “Giver”. She loved the Lord, family and friends. Her love was displayed time and time again, more by her actions than by her words. Ann is preceded in death by her step-father Mr. James Silcott.  Ann leaves to celebrate her life, mother Sarah Silcott; former husband Etienne Froston; three children Etlyn Steele, Louis and Leonard Froston; four grandchildren Claudia and Anthony Steele, Iluvia and Amani Froston; daughter-in-law Sharon Froston; granddaughter-in-law Detaria Steele and first great-grandson Bryson Anthony Steele; dearest Aunts Christobel Daly and Lucy O’Garro; “numerous adopted children” including adopted daughters Octavia Collins, Juliette Meade, Carolie Ponteen, Ivy Gumbs-Evers and Dorothy Young; a host of cherished relatives and faithful friends too numerous to mention. Funeral service in Greenwood Memorial United Methodist Church, 378 Washington Street, DORCHESTER, Saturday April 16 at 10:00 AM. Visitation begins at 9:00 AM Interment Oak Lawn Cemetery.
