You will surely be missed. Thanks for all that you did for me.
Mr. Daphnis,
I am truly going to miss talking to you, you are a true gentleman and scholar. I have never worked with a more compassionate, respectful and professional person. It was a pleasure knowing you. God bless you and your family.
Dear Mrs Daphnis,
Your husband was wonderful teacher, a patient and caring man who inspired me and others.
I had the good fortune to sit in his class at Hyde Park High School during the 1978-79 school year and he made the French literature class fun to to be a part of.
As you and his family members will miss him, so will a large portion of the Greater Boston Haitian Diaspora Community.
My condolences to all of you (Daphnis) from the Daniel family.
Peace and Love

Gary was a dedicated and caring professional who did his best to be helpful to all the teachers and students at the Jeremiah E. Burke High School.
I am very sad to know he is gone from this world, and extend my deepest sympathies to his family.
Dear Daphnis Family,
I was fortunate to have worked with your dear father and husband at Hyde Park High School from 1993 until his departure for Jeremiah E. Burke High school. Mr.Daphnis was a truly great MAN and Mentor, a passionate schollar, who treated colleagues and students with kindness and utmost respect. ” Do you want to be part of the problem, or part of solution?” was his motto. We have lost our best man.
Our deepest sympathy.

Dear Gary,
I will truly miss you.
I will truly miss when you called me La’Didi.
Every time you called me that name I laughed.
I love you.
I will miss you.
You will stay in my heart and prayers.
I love you.

My prayers and thoughts are with the Daphnis family. As Assistant Principal at Fontbonne Academy I knew his daughters, Yrag and Veronique, well. They are fine, young women. They are accomplished, strong, confident and faith filled. It was pretty clear to me from the beginning that they were raised in a loving and spiritual home. I am grateful to have known these young women and their family. I know they will be a great comfort to each other during this difficult time.

To the Daphnis family, I was out of town and just found out about dear Gary’s passing. He was such a sweet, kind man. I enjoyed working with him at English High and running into him at soccer events in Milton. I remember our shared baby shower for our daughters at EHS. I will miss Gary and will always remember him fondly. My condolences to the family
Dear Mrs. Daphnis and Family:
My deepest condolences in the passing of your beloved husband, father, and brother. Mr. Daphnis was the head of my ESL program at English High School, and my coach as a member of the coaching staffs at Bostiana football club. Whether it was academic or sport, his approach to teaching was always the same – positive reinforcement and encouragement. He expects nothing but the best out of his students. Mr. Daphnis was a brilliant scholar, a passionate and devoted educator, and an impeccable man. The world has lost a wonderful person, but his spirit leaves in the many lives that he has positively touched. May God be with you Mr. Daphnis, and may the Lord bless your family!

To the Family of Gary Daphnis–
I was aabsolutely shocked to hear about Gaary’s death. Today is Good Friday–and I just happened to meet a former colleague from Hyde Park who told me he died in August! I’m doubly saddened to know I didn’t know–because I would have wanted to mourn with his family and friends. In many ways he was like a brother to me.
I worked with Gary at Hyde Park High. We co-led the group that
helped design the plan for the Community Academy of Health and Science. We worked together closely and passionately. Alas, neither of us were granted the opportunity to work in the school to help implement the proposal.
Gary was absolutely dedicated to improving the quality of education in Boston. He will be missed. He ought to be remembered as an educational visionary.
Gary was also a man of tremendous faith. May he rest in peace.
Sincerely,
Joan Sullivan Gray,
