Isabel Hachey

a retired teacher, died Monday March 22 at Reservoir Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, West Hartford, CT. She was 100 years old.

Born in North Woodstock, NH, she was raised in New Hampshire and began teaching in 1930 at a one room schoolhouse in Groton, NH. Miss Hachey moved to Berlin, NH in 1936 and began teaching classes to people studying to become United States citizens. She lived in Berlin for 20 years and earned a bachelors degree from Plymouth State College in Plymouth, NH (1960). Miss Hachey taught in Hopedale, MA for two years before moving to Milton in 1962. She taught in the Milton Public Schools at the Glover and Collicot Schools until her retirement in 1979.

She was a member of the Friends of the Council on Aging, Milton and a former resident of Unquity House, Milton.

Daughter of the late Peter and Martina (Doucet) Hachey. Sister of the late Elsie Hachey. She leaves her cousins and caretakers June and Jim Birmingham, their children Sean Joseph Birmingham and Rosemarie Hall and her son Sean Patrick Hall, as well as many cousins throughout the Unite States and Canada.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Mary of the Hills Church, St. Mary’s Road, Milton, Tuesday March 30 at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hour at Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS, Tuesday 8:30 – 9:30 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment later in the Spring, Riverside Cemetery, Lincoln, NH.
